What Is Happening At Dig In?
If you go down to Albany Allotments towards the end of January you may be wondering what is going on.
Dig In has been gifted the funds to construct an Eco Loo for the use of its members.
This will be a big help as many of the people who use the Dig In Project come from vulnerable backgrounds and need that little bit of extra help.
The Town Council is pleased to have supported the Dig In project with this proposal and grant aided the cost of gaining planning permission for the structure. However, this is a Dig In initiative and the Town Council has no responsibility for this project and all management of the usage of the Eco Loo is down to Dig In.
Weather permitting, work will start on site mid January 2013 and hopefully the eco loo will be functioning by mid March.
Dig In is aiming to take a photographic record of the project and blog the whole development.
There is a Nottinghamshire wide initiative called the Big Dig, a week of action and Dig In hope that the grand opening of the eco loo will be held during that week on 16th March 2013.
However, before the big day the work needs to be done and if you are a member of Dig In or an allotment holder there is an opportunity to volunteer to help with this project.
The builders will be running four sessions regarding the construction of the eco loo.
