Toton Lane Closure

Essential carriageway resurfacing and kerbing works are due to start on Toton Lane, Stapleford from 7.00a.m. Monday 12th August 2013 until Sunday, 25th August 2013. Throughout this period Toton Lane, will be closed to traffic between its junctions with Eatons Road and Brookhill Street.

The junctions of Eatons Road, Cliffe Hill Avenue, Blake Road and Brookhill Street will also be closed for one to three hour periods while the work is in progress in the vicinity of these junctions.

Unfortunately, due to the size of the machinery used to plane and resurface the carriageway, temporary closure of the affected roads is the only means by which the works can be safely conducted. The diversion route that will be in place due to the closure will be via the B6010 Nottingham to Derby Road, Bramcote and the A52 Brian Clough Way to B6003 Toton Lane.

Residents will have access to their properties, but vehicular access may be restricted at times. The company carrying out the work have appointed Marshalls who will guide traffic through and be the direct liaison for residents.

There will be some disruption but anyone who travels on Toton Lane will know how necessary these works are. This type of scheme only happens about once every 30 years and when completed will make travelling on this stretch of road a lot easier.

this road has been in dire need of repair for a long time, how come the works were delayed from the start of this year, as the road has become dangerous for suspension and riddled with pot holes that have been poorly repaired, this work should have been carried out long before it got to this stage. glad its finally being attended to though.
