4912462 Broxtowe Borough Council along with the Liberal Democrat Leader of Stapleford Town Council Jacky Williams want to see the former Stapleford Police Station developed. They are now asking Aldi to move onto the site. Link to online petition, The former Police Station was bought with public money and the public would like to see this piece of the Towns history remain in Stapleford. The building should be used to benefit the wider community and not sold to make the Council a profit. In 2013 Stapleford Town Council carried out a so called consultation asking what the people of Stapleford would like to see, this was shortly after they Council purchased the building. You can find the survey via the following link, It would be nice to be made aware of the results of this survey. SO THE PEOPLE WHO SIGN THIS PETITION ARE DOING SO BECAUSE WE WANT TO RETAIN THE FORMER POLICE STATION IN STAPLEFORD. THE ARE MANY USES THAT COULD BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY, ALDI ON THE SITE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. WHEN YOU SIGN THE PETITION IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR USE OF THE FORMER POLICE STATION PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. I have noticed that Ilkeston have retained and renovated their police station and now Beeston is doing the same with their former police station , so why can’t Stapleford keep ours Just look at the former pub “the feathers” very tastefully converted into flats

Could be turned into a family restaraunt with children’s indoor & outdoor play area. Like a beefeater or hungry horse chain. Failing that retain the structure and turn it into flats/apartments.
