Hi, my name is Ashley Marriott and I am the Managing Director of Liberty Leisure.

Can I firstly say a great big thank you to all our customers, past and present and to welcome you, on behalf of Liberty Leisure, who will from 1 October 2016 be delivering sports, leisure and cultural services on behalf of Broxtowe Borough Council.

Before anyone panics, let me reassure you that as a company owned by the Council, you will see the same familiar faces in reception, the gym, the pool, indeed anywhere we are providing services.

You will notice some immediate changes; our bright new uniforms, changes to signage and our fantastic new interactive website ( and yes we are now a private limited company and we aim to improve your leisure experience as we grow and develop. Keep a keen eye out as we have lots of exciting new developments in the pipeline!

So why the change you might ask?

Well two main reasons; firstly in facing the extremely difficult financial pressures, Broxtowe Borough Council has to look at new and innovative ways of delivering services to avoid cuts, the new company is a key way of achieving this. Secondly, by creating a separate company the Council has empowered us to become more agile, entrepreneurial and more customer and business focussed than before. Our intention is to grow and improve services and to bring exciting new developments.

Watch out too for the new Liberty Leisure Card which will replace the Broxtowe Borough Leisure Card. Again don’t worry as your existing card will continue to work but take the advantage of picking up a new one!

The pricing structure with its discounts for concessions and juniors will remain, as will our fantastic value health and fitness and swimming lesson membership packages.

We really do have some exciting new developments which we will role out in the coming months and look forward to seeing new and existing customers enjoy the facilities and services we provide.

If you have anything you wish to ask me, please feel free to email me at
