TOTON AND CHILWELL PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
RESIDENTS IN TOTON AND CHILWELL are set to play a major role in the future planning after applications were submitted
for the designation of a new Neighbourhood Area and a Neighbourhood Forum.
Broxtowe Borough Council has received two separate applications for Toton and Chilwell, the first application is for the designation
of the wards of Toton and Chilwell Meadows and Chilwell West as a Neighbourhood Area and the second application is for the designation of Chetwynd: The Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Forum as the suitable body to undertake plan preparation.
Neighbourhood planning gives local people a greater opportunity to shape development in their area and allows them to plan
for the type of houses, businesses and green spaces they want to help it thrive.
Local people are invited to have their say on these proposals as part of an online consultation which can be found on the
Council’s website at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplans
The consultations will run from Monday 19th
December until 5.00pm on Friday 3rd February and can be completed online.
A Neighbourhood Plan can give communities a strong voice in the planning system because if successful, they form part of the
statutory development plan and must be taken into consideration by Broxtowe Borough Council when determining planning applications.
The application follows those made by
a community group in Bramcote and a number of Town and Parish Council’s in the Borough.
