Cookies Pond in Bramcote is a historic pond originally on land owned by the Cookie family. The pond is now on land adjoining housing but has become seriously polluted by run off from Ilkeston Road, choked by silt and leaves from surrounding trees.

Cookies Pond Preservation Group, Stapleford Community Group, Broxtowe Borough Council and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust have asked Groundwork Greater Nottingham to work with the local community to restore the pond.

We are planning techniques to return the pond back to a healthy biodiverse state and encourage native aquatic plants and wildlife to colonise in the future.

We are now calling for the community to complete the below survey to enable us to collectively collaborate on the pond.
