Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground.

14th January 2013 Help & Advice, Stapleford Community Group Tags: 0 Comments

Come and join a Landscape Architect from Groundwork Greater Nottingham and myself on Monday 21 January at 12.30pm as we discuss further improvements to the Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground.

If you can’t make the event but have some ideas to submit then please email them to Richard MacRae at staplefordcommunitygroup@gmail.com or feel free to add a comment on here.

You may remember last year that by working alongside Broxtowe Borough Council we got a new picnic bench installed on the park on a trial basis. Well good news as the trial has been a great success and the bench will be staying. It would be great to get another one.

There is also more positive news as today I sent off for a grant to fund 3 brand new trees to be planted alongside the picnic bench to create a shaded area, the trees will be planted by pupils from Wadsworth Fields Primary School and as soon as I have a finalised date I will let you know.

    Hi Rich.
I’m still going to be at work at that time. The only thing I would like to see in any park, is an area of natural flowers and plants to support the wildlife especially, bees! Any nectar and pollen-rich flowers would do – a meadow-type mix. It could be put near a corner or two so that the park space or grass isn’t compromised. It would only need cutting down in the autumn – the rest of the year, it looks after itself.
A good path around the park with some benches would be good. I know you’re suggesting the path already.
It’ll be an inspiration to the rest of Stapleford!
    🙂
