Second man arrested after Stapleford attack

Police have arrested a second man following a stabbing in Stapleford.

The 39-year-old was arrested this morning (Friday 7 June) and a vehicle, which is suspected to be connected to the incident, has been seized from an address in Stapleford.

Police were called to Central Avenue at about 7.40pm on Wednesday (5 June) where a 35-year-old man had been stabbed.

He was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre and has since been discharged to recuperate at home.

Mark Leeland, 32, of Brookhill Street, Stapleford, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon on Thursday 6 June. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 7 June).

Police would like to reassure the Stapleford community that this was believed to have been an isolated incident posing no wider risk to the public.
