Broxtowe Council Tenants Open Forum
Thursday 20th June 2013
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Trenton Close Off Ewe Lamb Lane
What are Open Forums?
Open Forums give you the chance to have your say about the housing services you receive from Broxtowe Borough Council. To help inform the development of our services we would like you to tell us:
• What we do well
• Where we can improve
• What is a priority for you in your area
Officers from different housing service areas will be available to talk to you at the Open Forums, including Repairs, Modernisations, Retirement Living and Tenancy & Estates Management.
During the first part of the Open Forums we will be asking you for general views of the housing services you have received. We want to know what works well and where you feel we can improve. The second part of the Open Forum will give you the opportunity to talk individually with relevant officers to discuss matters that concern you personally.
Working with resident groups we will look at all the information received at the Open Forums and identify ways in which we can tailor our service offers to meet local priorities. All the Open Forums will follow the same format and you will only need to attend one of these events to have your say.
Open Forum – Further Information
Tea and coffee will be available on arrival. Transport arrangements can be made upon request. Where possible the cheapest reasonable form of transport should be used, such as buses. Taxis can be organised where there is no other means of accessible transport available.
Broxtowe Borough Council recognises the positive contribution that individual resident volunteers make in improving the housing service, by reimbursement of out of pocket expenses for residents who attend meetings or participate in events, where views are sought by the housing service. Our Resident Involvement Expenses Policy sets out what expenses are eligible and how they can be claimed.
Future Open Forums
Future Open Forums will take place throughout the year. If you, or any Broxtowe Borough Council tenants and leaseholders would like to receive details of future Open Forums, please contact your Resident Involvement Co-ordinator using the contact details below.
If you would like to let us know if you are attending an Open Forum; to discuss transport arrangements or for any queries relating to the Open Forums, please contact Claire Newton, Resident Involvement Co-ordinator on 0115 917 3616 or firstname.lastname@example.org
These are very successful meetings and the members from the Council are there to listen to and help resolve any issues you may want to raise.
