Town Council Supports Washington Drive Community Centre

Town Mayor, David Grindell presented a cheque for £500 to Washington Drive Community Centre to build a garage which will assist with freeing up space at the centre and enable the expansion of facilities.


Washington Drive Community Centre opened in 1972 and is a popular venue in the area providing space for community groups covering all age ranges.

The Leader of the Town Council, Councillor Mrs Jacky Williams, was delighted to see the Town Council supporting this group.

Broxtowe Borough Council Mayor, Councillor Mrs Iris White, also presented a cheque from Borough Council to assist with the running costs of this facility.

    this just leaves one wondering, Why aren’t the same town council supporting Montrose community center,? where is the job club that Brian Wombwell promised in his news letter? why can’t this same council get the internet switched back on, and why do they try to thwart all that Richard Macrae tries to do for our local community.
