Plans for 450 new homes are halted

3rd September 2013 Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottingham Evening Post, Stapleford & Trowell Rural Action Group (STRAG), Upcoming Events Tags: , , , , , , 0 Comments

A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for 450 homes has officially been halted.

Broxtowe Borough Council has placed the Field Farm application in abeyance until March 31, 2014, at the earliest.

An inquiry will be held into the plans for the section of land off Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, after Secretary of State Eric Pickles “called in” the development because the plans “may conflict with national policies” such as those on the use of green-belt land.

The application will be reviewed after the inspector completes an investigation into the council’s core strategy.

Broxtowe Borough Council has to find space for 6,150 new homes in the borough by 2028 to keep in line with Government targets.
