Who are these anonymous people? staplefordcommunitygroup 8 years Reply Websites often carry ‘anonymous’ letters, but they’re only anonymous as far as the reader is concerned. Editors usually demand that letter writers identify themselves. This is so the editor can contact the sender to make sure there’s no malicious intent. The letter writer can request that his or her identity is not revealed in print – hence “Name and address supplied”. In other words, the writer’s name and address has been supplied to the website, but they are being kept confidential.
