10th December 2013 Help & Advice, Nottingham Evening Post, Police Alerts, Update & Messages. Tags: 0 Comments

VAN drivers are being warned about securing their vehicles following two break-ins in one night.

Both thefts happened in Stapleford some time between 11pm and on November 30 and 5am on December 1.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to the incidents, in which two white vans were targeted, one in Rossell Drive and one in New Eaton Road.

One had a door lock forced and the other had a window smashed.

The thieves made off with a number of items including an iPad, sunglasses and a satnav.

PCSO Dean Bardill said:

“Please remember to secure your vehicles as best you can. Remove all valuables from the vehicle and make sure the vehicle is locked.

“Don’t just assume you have locked it using the central locking – check it by testing the handle. If you have a garage please use it and if you have a drive, make sure there is good security lighting.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
