Stapleford Cycle Centre Launch Event
Stapleford Cycle Centre was officially launched on Hickings Lane Park today.
Councillor Steve Barber joined Councillor Richard MacRae along with members of Stapleford Community Group who postcoded bikes, scooters and even a pushchair at todays event.
After giving a great speech about the fun and importance of bike riding Councillor Steve Barber cut the ribbon to start of the days events.
Travelright Broxtowe had freebies and info as well as help and advice. Lots of people signed up for bike lessons as well as guided bike rides.
Local residents as well as ones from as far as Eastwood attended today, many took advantage of the free cycle security markings which kept Councillor Amanda Hull busy.
Who didn’t enjoy the cakes made and supplied by PulpFriction.
As well as the wonderful cakes PulpFriction also had there amazing smoothie bikes.
Dr Bike was busy from start to finish repairing and checking over people bikes.
Just some of the fun bikes that were available to have a go on, or fall off….
Bunting was made and will now be saved and used at future events. Well done to Claire and Danni, true artists.
The city bikes are brilliant. Everyone had fun. These are available to borrow for free for three months to anyone who joins to weekly cycle sessions.
Don’t forget to come back to Stapleford Cycle Centre next Saturday.
A huge thanks to all the staff at Travelright Broxtowe, PulpFriction, Dr Bike, Stapleford Community Group
Especially Toby and Lucy for helping set up the marquee stand.
