Local School Children Planted over 1000 Poppy Seeds Today.

Today 60 children who attend William Lilley Primary School in Stapleford planted over 1000 poppy seeds as part of the Planting The Town Red Campaign

They were joined by School Governor and Stapleford Councillor Dave Pearson along with Councillor Richard MacRae who gave a talk to the children about the campaign and why it is important we commemorate The Great War.

Then it was outside to the playground where the children enjoyed planting the poppy seeds and preparing the planters for them to grow in.

Thanks to the children at William Lilley Primary School for kindly inviting us along it was a great pleasure.
