Officers are trying to trace a man who may have witnessed an attempted robbery in Wollaton.

We think he could have seen two men try to steal cash from security guards at the Bramcote Lane Sainsbury’s at just before 8am today (Saturday 15th November 2014).

The guards managed to distract the men and move to safety, leaving the offenders no choice but to flee empty-handed in a grey/silver car. No one was injured.

Were you the man who was in the area at the time? He was white and wearing a blue Nottingham University sweatshirt.

The suspects were black, slim and in their early to mid-20s. One was about 5ft 8 ins tall and the other a little taller at about 5ft 10ins. Both were dressed in dark clothing, with hoods up and their faces covered.

Were you in the area at the time? Did you see the incident? Do the men and the car sound familiar to you?

If you have any information call us on 101, quoting incident 257 of 15 November 2014, or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
