Brock junior will step into his father’s footsteps later this month as he gives Broxtowe residents free advice on recycling their extra glass over the festive season at a series of recycling events across the borough.

Broxtowe Borough Council’s mascot, ‘Brock the Badger’ will hand over to Brock Junior who will help Broxtowe Borough Council’s Waste and Recycling Team show residents how the glass collection service works, give out additional glass bags and answer any recycling related questions at six events in November and December to encourage more local people to recycle.

The full programme includes:

  • Tuesday 25th November (11.00am – 2.00pm) Tesco, Swiney Way, Toton
  • Wednesday 26th November (11.00am – 2.00pm), Morrisons – Eastwood
  • Monday 1st December (11.00am – 2.00pm) Sainsburys’, Stoney Street, Beeston
  • Tuesday 2nd December (11.00am – 2.00pm) Tesco, Station Street, Beeston
  • Wednesday 3rd December (11.00am – 2.00pm) Co-op, Victoria Street, Stapleford
  • Monday 8th December (11.00am – 2.00pm) Sainsburys’, Main Street, Kimberley

Over the Christmas period, around 50% more glass is collected. By recycling just one glass bottle, a TV can be powered for 15 minutes or a washing machine for 10 minutes.
