Broxtowe Shoppers Get Early Christmas Present

24th November 2014 Broxtowe Borough Council, Help & Advice, Upcoming Events Tags: , 0 Comments

Christmas will arrive early for shoppers in Broxtowe thanks to free weekend parking in car parks across the borough.

Free car parking will be available at all of the Council’s car parks for each of the four Saturdays in December, starting from Saturday 6th until Saturday 27th, with the exception of the car park located at Station Road (near Beeston train station) where charges will remain at normal levels. Sunday parking remains free as well.

Borough residents and visitors to Beeston can also come and meet Santa in his Grotto from 11.00am until 5.00pm, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Beeston Square throughout December or see a giant Snow Globe on Chilwell High Road outside Chilwell Road Methodist Church on the day and 11.00am until 5.30pm every Saturday throughout December.

Additional funding of £12,000 from the tram project is helping to boost the overall offer in Beeston with improved Christmas lights (including innovative lighting along Chilwell Road) and enhanced entertainment.

In respect of the revised car parking arrangements, the three hour maximum stay still applies in all short stay car parks. No need to obtain a free ticket from the machines. Enforcement Officers will still be on duty to ensure compliance with the three hour limit and to enforce other restrictions such as protecting blue badge parking bays. Normal charges apply Mondays to Fridays
