Teacher of English, Nottinghamshire
George Spencer Academy
The Spencer Academies Trust was established shortly after George Spencer became one of the first outstanding schools to convert to academy status in August 2010. Building on our successful track record of providing high quality teaching and learning and securing outcomes for children and young people, our mission statement for the Trust reflects our vision and aim for all the schools:
“To improve the life chances of children and young people by challenging and supporting all schools within the Trust on their journey to and beyond outstanding”.
“As a National Teaching School and Hub Lead for Challenge Partners, we will continue our ambition of becoming a centre of world-class excellence and innovation across our Trust Schools”, Susan Jowett, Executive Principal.
We wish to appoint two outstanding classroom practitioners with a good English Degree within our highly successful English Faculties. We have 2 separate posts, one at George Spencer Academy and the other at Heanor Gate Science College. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic teachers of English at KS3-4, (experience or interest in work at KS5 would be an advantage) who have the ability to secure excellent results. This is the opportunity to work within strong, supportive and friendly Faculties with a track record of excellent examination results and a collegiate approach to working. These posts are suitable for newly qualified or more experienced teachers.
We offer outstanding career, training and R & D opportunities as a Teaching School licensed for Leadership Development programmes, a SCITT provider, a National Support, Advanced Consultant and Challenge Partner School which learns from international benchmarking and links.
Accolades include International schools, Investors in People, Artsmark, ECO, Healthy Schools Awards, ICT mark and a Lead School in the Network of Computer Science Teaching Excellence
