Who Vandalised Our Wonderful Willow Tree?, Update

23rd February 2015 Broxtowe Borough Council, Help & Advice Tags: , , , 1 Comment

The felled Weeping Willow at Bardills

Have today received a response from Councillor Milan Radulovic, Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council.

Dear Cllr Radulovic

Clearly the tree that was removed was a much loved local feature – I have previously explained to Ms A Soubry MP that the tree was unprotected and displayed both structural weakness and had a fungal infection.

I can’t put the tree back together but would suggest that this autumn we take the opportunity to plant x 10 willows  (Size 14/16s) in Stapleford Parks to commemorate the loss of this tree

I will ask Tim Crawford to write to the developer to see if they will contribute to the planting costs- they may even be willing to plant a willow on the same site or in the school grounds to replace the lost specimen

If you wish me to action this let me know
