Local Update March 2015: Bramcote
The number of vehicle crime offences for the month of February 2015 is significantly lower than the number of offences reported in February 2014.
It is still a concern that vehicles are being entered overnight as they have been left unlocked and insecure by the owners. The number of dwelling burglary offences reported during February 2015 is the same as the number of reported offences in February 2014, in a third of the offences in February 2015 entry was gained to the properties as the owners had left doors insecure and unlocked overnight.
There has been a reduction in the number of criminal damage offences in February 2015 compared to the number in February 2014.
February 2015 has seen a small increase in the number of bicycles being stolen from outside Bramcote Leisure Centre. If you are a regular user of the leisure facilities and use a bike as your preferred method of transport to the leisure centre please ensure you have a good quality lock to secure your bike to the bike racks at the front of the centre.
In relation to the vehicle crime offences please bear in mind the following when it comes to vehicle security:
- Ensure when you are leaving your vehicle it is locked and secure! If you have a garage please use it to park vehicles in, if you do not have a garage then please use driveways. If you have to park on the street where you live please ensure you park in a well lit area and remove all valuable items from your vehicle and lock it.
