This is a bit last minute but a few people have pulled out and we have some spaces on  a training session and wondered if of interest to anyone.

We have organised a Healthy Homes/Switching Energy Supplier training session on Monday 16thMarch 12 – 2 pm, Old Council Chamber, Town Hall Beeston.  The training session will run for approx. one and a half hours and we will have refreshments/drink at the end. So  a lunch time  training session. We hope to have between 15 – 20 people max. We have at present a mixture of people from the volunteer sector and Broxtowe Borough Council attending this training. Please go to the Town Hall reception and a member of staff will collect you.

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has commissioned the Greater Nottingham Healthy Housing Service (GNHHS) to help provide a whole system commissioning approach to tackling fuel poverty and excess winter deaths.  GNHHS is commissioned to deliver training courses to the frontline staff across the County to raise awareness to the range of insulation grants and improvements also preventative adaptations that are available to improve the health of the most vulnerable citizens (elderly, disabled, families with young children) who live in Private Housing. The Broxtowe session is spilt up into two parts.

  • The Improving Health through Warmer Homes training course is a 45 minute introductory session.  Individuals attending the course will be shown the health, comfort and financial benefits of improving domestic energy efficiency through the use of case studies, also how to spot the signs of fuel poverty and make a referral, so that clients can access the grants that are available through the Service.

  • The session at Broxtowe will also include  promoting the benefits of energy switching lasting about 45 mins, how to switch energy supplier, the benefits of using the Nottinghamshire Climate Change Partnership switching site and switching tips.

We have a few places left and if you can confirm with me either by email today to Andrew.pooley@broxtowe.gov.uk or call 07552790643 up until Monday am that would be great to secure a place.

Regards

Andy
