Stapleford Councillors are asking for Nottinghamshire County Council to review the state of the Speed Bumps currently in place on Derby Road, Stapleford and also asking for Broxtowe Borough Council to allow 3 hours FREE parking in the Towns Car Parks.

A petition has been started by Stapleford Borough Councillors John McGrath, Richard MacRae & Ray Darby.

Paper Petitions will be available in various Shops on Derby Road, or you can download one here: HIGH STREET PETITION

You can also sign the Petition online at the following link:

The three Borough Councillors have been out and about talking to the staff at local Shops and Businesses and there is an agreement that allowing 3 hours FREE parking will be a huge help to them as it will give customers more time on the High Street.

The Speed Bumps have been a major issue for many people for a long time and this needs to be reviewed asap. One idea was to change the current style to ones to match the Pedestrian Crossings and also introduce a 20MPH Speed Limit along Derby Road.

If the speed bumps are done right, you won’t need to drop the speed limit. But those speed bumps need to be changed out for the more rounded ones. The ones that are there now, and others like that, actually damage cars no matter how slowly you go over them.
