Green Strategy Deadline Extended
Have your say on how Broxtowe Borough’s high quality green space and rich wildlife can be protected and enhanced in the future.
The deadline for comments has been extended to Friday 31st July.
The Green Infrastructure Strategy questionnaire is available on Broxtowe Borough Council’s website at
and gives local residents an opportunity to give their thoughts on the Council’s strategy, which has been produced in conjunction with Groundwork Greater Nottingham to help direct conservation and enhancement of green space in the Borough.
Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Environment and Economic Development, Councillor Richard Jackson said: “The views of our residents are incredibly important to the Council and we are keen to hear from as many local residents and community groups as possible to ensure that we can protect the fantastic natural environment we have in the Borough, as well as support the growth of the area for future generations.”
“We have been so impressed with the responses so far, we have extended the deadline to ensure that as many local people as possible can have their say.”
Green Infrastructure is a network of living multi-functional natural and semi natural features such as green spaces, rivers and lakes that link and connect villages, towns and cities. The strategy has been designed to help the Council:
Formally identify important environmental assets
Establish environmental networks and corridors
Identify gaps in the networks and provision of green infrastructure
Identify where improvements could be made
The strategy will also help inform future Planning Policy.
The consultation is open until Friday 31st July.
Hard copies of the strategy and plans will be available to view at the Council Offices on Foster Avenue, Beeston and at Eastwood Cash Office on Nottingham Road throughout the consultation period.
