Early Years Playgroup and Pre-School 30th Birthday Celebrations and Opening of the Mason Room.

On 7th July Early Years Playgroup and Pre-School celebrated 30 years of providing pre-school childcare to the community of Stapleford.

In the last 3 years since its move from Wadsworth Fields School to the Old Lace Mill on Frederick Road, it has grown and now offers 2, 3 and 4 Year Funded Places and Holiday Clubs.

Through funding from Nottinghamshire County Council in the last 2 years the downstairs Mason Room has been developed with new toilets, kitchen and new equipment for the children.

John and Sheila Mason the landlords and owners of Cluny Lace in Ilkeston and Glyn Hubbard, previous owner of the Old Lace Mill officially opened the Mason Room at 30th Birthday Party.

The celebrations was attended by local dignitaries and Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr Susan Roome from Stapleford Town presented a £250 cheque to Parent Committee Chairperson Anne Brechin and Manager Karen Morley. 

Rev.Peter Huxtable of St.Helen’s Church prayed a prayer of blessing and Ruth Coffey one of the original staff who founded the Early Years Playgroup cut the Birthday Cake.
