No To Fracking in Broxtowe

18th August 2015 Broxtowe Borough Council, Councillor Richard MacRae Tags: , , , 0 Comments

Fracking

Fracking could be coming to Broxtowe, including Stapleford & Beeston.

Companies have been offered contracts to begin exploratory drilling in five stretches in the county- they include the areas around Stapleford and Beeston.

The contracts provide the first step towards drilling but do not necessarily mean drilling will take place. The winning bidders will still need to get planning permission. http://bbc.in/1NgXnUL

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND SAY NO TO FRACKING IN BROXTOWE.

Councillor Richard MacRae says:

“Stapleford is already possibly loosing its Field Farm Greenbelt due to development of 450 Houses, do we really want to loose more of our green spaces to allow Fracking to take place.”

No one would want this on their door step, It could be an environmental disaster… Its time to move forward, most people want renewable energy to be more accessible, but what do they care, It’s all about the money isn’t it.

Over on Bramcote Today I’m afraid you’ll find the site’s manager has now resorted to making posts with comments turned off to try and fight the pro-fracking argument.
