Accident At Sherwin Island Earlier This Week.

26th February 2016 Stapleford Fire Station Tags: , , 0 Comments

Earlier this week we attended a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) on Bramcote Island.
On-call firefighter Gavin Kinney shares his thoughts about it.

“I was at home sorting out the loft when my pager went off, less than ten minutes later I was on Bramcote Island getting off all our RTC equipment, ready to cut the lady free.

Thankfully, she didn’t need it and with a little first aid and some small tools she was out the car and off to hospital.

One of the reasons I love being an on-all firefighter is that I get to do this sort of stuff in my own area and you never know where you are going to be in 10 minutes. I went from sorting out boxes to being fully kitted up ready to rescue a stranger, it makes me feel really proud to do this job”

Stapleford Fire Station is recruiting on-call firefighters, are you fit for the kit?
