Are you confident, organised and committed? Do you have excellent event management and communications skills? From managing the Mayor’s diary to organising a wide range of events, no day is the same in this unique and interesting job.

You will be at the forefront of an all-year round programme of civic engagement including facilitating a wide range of civic, charity and corporate events for Broxtowe Borough Council and providing support to the Mayor in carrying out an extensive number of engagements each year.

The successful candidate must be a strong communicator, committed to providing a high standard of customer care and will take prime responsibility for the co-ordination of a busy mayoral diary, including direct liaison with a wide range of residents and community groups, as well as regular contact with a variety of dignitaries and high level public servants.

Working in the small but busy Corporate Communications Team, team work is essential as well as being able to work creatively to your own initiative to meet deadlines. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are also vital.

Good presentation skills and experience of working in a similar role are desirable particularly in communications, civic, events management and working with the community.

The hours of work are 21.5 hours per week but this is not a 9 to 5 post and you must be flexible and prepared to work outside of normal office hours, including some weekends and evenings.

The post holder will also be required to provide cover for the Corporate Communications Manager.
