Two for Tea for Treetops
Stapleford tearoom ‘Two for Tea’ has helped launch this year’s Tea for Treetops fundraising appeal, encouraging others to sign up too.
Tea for Treetops will run throughout July with the general public, schools and businesses being encouraged to host their own tea parties at which friends and family can donate money towards the charity. The tearoom is planning its own Tea for Treetops event to celebrate its first year of business at Derby Road.
Tearoom owner, Vanessa Sabin, explained that they have been supporters of the local hospice since they opened their doors last year:
“The whole staff team here have, in one way or another, been affected by a life-limiting illness in different ways. My own close relative received counselling support and complementary therapy at Treetops and found both services simply fantastic.
A great, social summer event
Mary Rose, community fundraiser added:
“Tea for Treetops is a great social, summer event – a chance to treat your friends, family, pupils, visitors and customers to a piece of cake, a cup of tea and raise money at the same time.
“We’re hoping to raise £10,000 towards the hospice and its services which we know have been welcomed and received by thousands of local people.”
John Minter, volunteer driver and fundraiser for the charity also joined the launch. John is a familiar face in Two for Tea when he picks up their charity tin on his regular collection rounds. John started volunteering for Treetops eight years ago after retiring.
