Another Community Defibrillator Installed In Stapleford
Another live saving Community Defibrillator has been installed in Stapleford.
The money was raised from kind donations from local residents and businesses alike from throughout the Town after Stapleford Community Group put out an appeal.
The Community Group worked alongside Stapleford Councillors John McGrath and Richard MacRae who approached The West End Pub who jumped at the change to have the Defibrillator installed outside the pub.
The device is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and upon calling 999 the code would be given to access the device.
The Community Defibrillators have been supplied by United Living at Broxtowe Borough Council with the funds raised and once activated they are self explanatory on how to use them, although no official qualifications or training are actuality required to use the units.
The two Councillors are now waiting for the next device to be installed around the Moorbridge Lane, Stapleford area.
Once the next Community Defibrillator is installed training sessions on how to use these devices will be organised by Stapleford Community Group for those who wish to attend the training sessions, but again you do not need training to be able to use these devices. The training is just something some people have requested.
We would once again like to thank everyone who made the kind donations to make this possible.
