Stapleford Remembers, the Centenary of The Great War.
Today marks the start of Stapleford Remembers to commemorate the end of The Great War.
Volunteers gathered this morning to put Poppies up in the Town Square, along Derby Road, Church Street, Pasture Road, Ilkeston Road and Hickings Lane.
In the following week they will be put up along Toton Lane, Nottingham Road and then see what’s left.
It has been decided that the Silent Soldiers will be installed later in the year outside Sparkle Day care on Church Street, The Midland Hotel on Derby Road, at The Roach on Toton Lane and outside Cambridge House on Nottingham Road as well as in the Walter Parker VC Memorial Square.
Thanks again to the volunteers who braved a cold and wet and windy morning to kick off Stapleford Remembers
