£1,000 Grants On Offer To Broxtowe Start-Ups

BUSINESS GRANTS are on offer for start-up businesses in Broxtowe thanks to a new £1,000 grant scheme in the Borough.

Councillor Tony Harper, Chair of the Jobs and Economy Committee, said: “We’re excited to be bringing this new grant scheme to Broxtowe. Start-up businesses need support to thrive and we’re looking forward to helping more entrepreneurs in the Borough start their business journeys.

Increasing the number of new businesses in Broxtowe is important for the local economy and we’re setting up this scheme to help encourage entrepreneurial spirit in our area.”

Any registered businesses that are not yet trading or have been trading for up to six months are free to apply, and interested applicants need to showcase up to a £2,000 spend on eligible activity such as:

  • Capital assets such as plant, equipment or machinery. NB vehicles, stock and consumables are excluded
  • Office equipment, furniture and the purchase and installation of computer systems
  • Security equipment and installation
  • Shop fitting and improvements to shop fronts, including refurbishment to interior
  • Advertising and marketing costs including website design;
  • Business stationery

Businesses need to submit a business plan and cash flow forecast long with their application form. They can speak with a D2N2 Growth Hub adviser for guidance on preparing their documents for a submission.

Grant applications will be discussed by the Broxtowe Start-Up Grant Panel who will decide if an application is successful and how much will be awarded.
