Throughout the summer holidays the #StaplefordFoodProject has been very busy.

We would like to thank both The Haven Centre and Children’s Centre Services, South Broxtowe who ran the weekly Holiday Hunger sessions, this saw many families taking part in fun healthy food sessions.

Stapleford Young People’s Centre (Stapleford Youth Club) which usually closes in the summer holidays stayed open on Wednesday’s and many youngsters learnt about healthy eating and made meals to eat with the help of the staff. These sessions will carry on due to the popularity.

They also had the Everyone Health Nottinghamshire come along to several of the sessions too.

We also need to thank Lidl and The Coop in Sandiacre, Tesco in Toton and Aldi in Strelley who all made very kind donations to the #StaplefordFoodProject which helped so many people throughout the summer holidays, of course this will continue after the holidays.

We have already signed up to Aldi in Stapleford which is due to open on 28th November to collect any surplus food donations they have as well.

We also had food donations which we delivered and distributed via the Church@MontroseCourt, Sparkle Daycare, Big Kirk Hallam Community Centre, New Stapleford Community Centre, Bilborough Foodbank Nottingham, Ilkeston Arena Community Foodbank, as well as delivering hampers to those in need around Stapleford, Chilwell and Barton in Fabis.

A big thank you to the volunteers who have helped before the summer holidays, during the summer holidays and will continue after the summer holidays.
