We have now collected and handed out over 70,000 equivalent meals worth of surplus food which has been saved from going to waste.
We would like to thank Lidl, The Co-Op, Aldi and Tesco as well as the other businesses who have made the amazing donations to us.
Volunteers have been working tirelessly collecting, sorting, handing out and delivering the food which has then gone on to be used by others and all saved from going to waste.
On top of this we have now donated over 7 tonnes of food to the food bank at The Church at Montrose Court which has been used to support all those who access the service they provide.
Please find a list below of all those groups and organisations we have supported with donations which in turn help them to help so many others since we have been doing this.
Church at Montrose Court, Broxtowe Borough Council, St Helens Church, Nottinghamshire Police, Eastwood People’s Initiative, The Haven Church and Community Centre, Broxtowe Youth Homelessness, Stapleford Helping Hands, Sandiacre Helping Hands, Sandiacre Mutual Aid, Hope Nottingham, Hope Long Eaton, Eastwood Food Bank, Brinsley Food Bank, Bilborough Food Bank, Ilkeston Arena Food Bank, Big Kirk Hallam Community Centre, Sharing The Love, Phoenix Football Club, Walkers Notts, Tracy’s Street Kitchen, The Chayah Development Project, Broxtowe Labour Hub, Derby Mission, Derby Homeless Shelter, Chaos Retreat, Bramcote Animal Rescue, Birmingham Homeless Support Team.
Donations have also gone to Rockwell Court, Westbourne Court, Carpenters Court, Guterslough Court and Church Close.
Of course none of this would be possible without the continued help and support of all the volunteers who give up there own time to make this happen on a daily basis.
If you would like to support us in what we do you could play the Broxtowe Lotto.
It’s quick and easy to join and as well as supporting the local community, you’ll be in with a chance to win up to £25,000!
