Broxtowe Council Tax Bills Are Coming
Council Tax Bills are on their way and Broxtowe Borough Council is giving its residents some helpful advice to help save them some time.
50,000 bills will be sent over the next few days which means the Council’s contact centre will be busier than normal and residents may find it harder to get through on the phone.
The following tips might help residents save some time if the phone lines are busy:
- The quickest and easiest way to pay is by direct debit. You can download the mandate form at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/paycounciltax
- If you can’t pay by direct debit, you can pay online at broxtowe.gov.uk/estore
- You can also pay via the automated payment line on Freephone 0800 952 0040
There is a small increase in Broxtowe’s element of Council Tax this year. This will see a £5 annual increase per Band D property taking it from £166.85 in 2020/21 to £171.85 in 2021/22.
Residents are also being made aware of the Adult Social Care precept which is listed on this year’s bill. Your Council Tax bill will show the Adult Social Care precept separately. More information about this is available on Nottinghamshire County Council’s website at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/counciltax ( Opens in a New Window).
Council Tax is set annually and the money you pay is used to fund local services.
Around 8% of your Council Tax goes towards funding services provided by Broxtowe Borough Council. The rest goes to Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and your Parish Council. Broxtowe Borough Council collects Council Tax for all of these organisations but each is responsible for deciding its own rates.
