This section contains all of our Council, Cabinet & Committee meetings.

Members attending meetings with a personal interest in an item on the agenda must disclose the existence and nature of that interest and, if it is a prejudicial interest, withdraw from the meeting room during the discussion and voting on the item.

Alcohol & Entertainments Licensing The committee deals with matters relating to the Licensing Act 2003, (alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment premises) and the Gambling Act 2005 including arcades, betting shops to lotteries and amusement registrations and any other gambling matters.
Bramcote Bereavement Services Joint Committee Bramcote Bereavement Services is a joint venture between Broxtowe Borough Council and Erewash Borough Council. The committee oversees its management and comprises members from both Councils and local professional user groups.
Cabinet The cabinet is the main decision-making body, apart from full Council and the regulatory committees. It is responsible for all the executive decisions of the Council. The cabinet also prepares the principal strategic policies which are adopted by full Council.
Council Meetings The full Council comprises all 44 councillors and takes decisions on major policies and sets the Council Tax. The Council also receives petitions from members of the public and makes appointments to committees.
Development Control Committee The Development Control Committee meets every four weeks. Its main role is to determine planning applications. It can also propose matters of planning policy to the Council.
General Purposes & Audit Committee The General Purposes & Audit Committee meets on a quarterly basis. The committee is responsible for overseeing the arrangements for the maintenance of the Council’s internal financial control environment & reviewing and approving the Council’s published accounts and associated documents.
Licensing & Appeals Committee The main role of the Committee is to recommend licensing policy apart from that relating to the Gambling Act 2005 and the Licensing Act 2003.
Standards Committee The Standards Committee meets on a quarterly basis. The committee is responsible for promoting and maintain a high standards of conduct by members and employees. To oversee ethical issues and provide advice and guidance to members on the code and conduct. To determine any complaints of a breach of the code of conduct referred by the Standards Board for England.
Overview & Scrutiny Committee The Overview and Scrutiny Committee (OSC) coordinates scrutiny. The committee considers requests for scrutiny received and decides whether those issues should be reviewed.
People & Places EIG The remit of the People and Places EIG is based around the Council’s corporate objectives of bringing people together and community safety and the cross cutting themes of activities for children and young people, excellence in front line service delivery and cost effectiveness.
Sustainable Communities EIG The remit of the Sustainable Communities EIG is based around the Council’s corporate objectives of place shaping and green issues and the cross cutting themes of excellence in front line service delivery, cost effectiveness and healthy living.
Services EIG The remit of the Services EIG is based around the Council’s corporate objectives of housing and place shaping and the cross cutting themes of excellence in front line service delivery and cost effectiveness.
