We would like to say thank you to Tesco and Lidl for the kind donations of Surplus Food.

We have now collected the equivalent of 2,330 meals of surplus food donations from the Lidl Sandiacre Store and we have collected 2,236 Kilos of Surplus Food from Tesco.

This has all been saved from landfill and passed on to those in need in our community.

Have you considered supporting Stapleford Community Group in what we do?

You could take part in the Broxtowe Lotto and support us.

The next Broxtowe Lotto draw is on Saturday – have you got your tickets yet?

Please Give What You Can.

Local Businesses, Stapleford Community Group, Surplus Food Donations Tags: , , 0 Comments

We have now collected over 4,000 meals from Tesco and over 988 meals from Lidl which in turn has been distributed to the community.

Many people have asked how can they make a donation to help us with the collections we make.

The surplus food from both Tesco and Lidl will always be available to collect completely free of charge but if people like those who have already asked wanted to make a donation to Stapleford Community Group we have decided we will put out a donations box when we give out the surplus food.

Please do not feel the need to make a donation but if you did it would be gratefully received and much appreciated.

We have been told by Fareshare that our organisation has collected 1,716 Kgs of donated food which is the approximate equivalent of 4,000 meals.

They also said that our organistaion has a very high acceptance rate of offered donations, meaning it’s not very often we are unable to collect the kind donations they offer on behalf of the Toton and Beeston Tesco Stores.

We have been successfully collecting from Lidl in Sandiacre too and are in talks with other local Supermarkets and food outlets also.

Also thanks to Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and The Church@MontroseCourt
